This book would never have made it to paper without the help of my wife Antoinette Dean Martin. Known to her fans as “Teaky,” she has been a writer all her life. She is one English major who has put her Wellesley schooling to good use. Today she writes newspaper stories in North Florida where we live.

We have spent years on this book and are on our second computer. “Teaky” has suggested, corrected, edited, and encouraged me all through the years. She has helped me do research and has taken notes during some of the interviews. She also allowed me to travel to distant places to visit with many of the fliers and others mentioned in this book. If she was bored with all the visits, or the Hall of Fame and Memorial dedications we have attended over the years, she never told me. For all this I thank her.
